Explaining the New East-West Confrontation: Ideas and Interests in Governmental Preference Formation
In the recent decade, the relations between Russia and the United States have significantly deteriorated. The lack of common ground on a range of political and security issues intensified dramatically and led to the partial disruption of cooperation and mutual introduction of sanctions. The project aims to explain this turn in relations, focusing on domestic societal influences relevant to the formation of governmental positions of the involved states.
